Domino’s Pizza Group Offices – Milton Keynes
| April 14, 2021Rhino Interiors Group responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with a safe and engaging workspace for Domino’s located in Milton Keynes, England.
Covid reshaped the design scheme for headquarters of fast food giant, Dominos Pizza. Explore how their new space embodies safe, fun and productive collaboration!
Rhino Interiors were tasked with conceptualising a 5,000 sqft space for Dominos prior to Covid’s arrival last year. However, the arrival of the pandemic completely re-aligned the requirements and considerations in the office design! Originally combating too little space, Dominos now had to tackle an excess of space. With working from home and hybrid, flexible working taking predominance, they now needed an agile working ‘hub’ where teams could blend working at home with coming to the office to utilise focus desks or collaborative spaces – safely and productively.
The layout and design of the new Dominos workspace centred around the efficient movement of people, to minimise pinch points and maximise free-flow. A perfect example of this was the kitchen and teapoint design – where the worktop and sink layout was mirrored on the opposite side of the space to create a parallel-flow. This enables 2 people to use the space without hindering each other or breaking down distancing obligations. With lots of natural light flooding the space, this needed to be maximised to the full advantage, providing teams with their dose of Vitamin D! Branding and strong affiliation with the Dominos ‘one team’ culture was a primary requirement in the design. With the workplace being the only place people feel more connected to their company in our new world, this was of utmost importance. By applying a simple colour palette of bold blue and red, with black, natural wood and white, we could ensure the brand and its values remain strong wherever you are in the space.
