Fastfive Coworking Offices – Seoul
| March 10, 2021Ian Lee worked closely with Fastfive to develop a premier workspace for their latest coworking offices in Seoul, South Korea.
Vancouver-based interior designer Ian Lee was commissioned by shared-workspace provider Fastfive, to design the interiors of their new co-working space location.
Located near Samseong Metro Station in Gangnam, Seoul, the 900-square-metre space features glass-partitioned private offices as well as a spacious common area that incorporates a library which can be rearranged into a lecture hall for events. Private areas of the space can be reached through an archway with curtains for acoustic separation.
The library is filled with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves which the space’s members have full access to. The book collections are curated regularly, catering to the interests of the members who mostly work in the fields of tech, design and art. Along with the library, the common area offers different work setups including multiple meeting rooms, meeting booths, phone booths, bar seatings, window nooks and lounge area.
Oak planks that cover the entire floor of the space are continuously used in wall cladding and ceiling as well, creating a cohesive and inviting environment. The oak creates a warm backdrop for the additional material palette that consists of monochromatic finishes paired with deep green and peach colours.
Custom millwork in the kitchen and meeting booths integrates planters, bringing lush greenery indoors. The plants function as dividers that separate semi-private spaces from the open, collaborative library area.
