What Should Be Your Budget For Interiors [Panel Discussion]

The panel members speak out the importance of budget for a fantabulous output. They also mention that they are many clients who just spend a lot for excellent quality interior designers.
At 1.36 min of the video Ms. Vatsala mentions the minimum budget required for ornamenting any flat or home interiors. She opens up that a minimum of 8 to 10% of the flat value should be reserved as interior’s budget.
Ms. Vatsala further divides the percentage deeper for specific work. Depending on the funding of the client, 8 to 10% of the budget is reserved for wood work, 2 to 3% is to be dedicated for lightning, false ceiling, electrical appliances, kitchen appliances, chimney and electrical work.
If the client loves to make the interiors more exceptional and looking forward to purchase furniture, another 1% should be reserved. At 2.31min of the video Ms. Vatsala comes to conclusion that nearly 10 to 13% would be ample for a magnificent interior design.
At 3.30 min in the video Mr. Sameer generalizes and opens up that the budget is sufficient and includes designing too. They also have made discussion about customers who are quick and just want to purchase and put the items in place. For these quick clients the budget would be 5 to 6% of the flat value.
The next scenario the panel members discuss the “points to consider when planning a budget.” There are many aspects to look into for interior designing, when stepping into a new home or flat, old furniture with good conditions can be present, apart from that as mentioned above basic things should be taken into consideration such as wood work, ward robe, kitchen appliances, sofa, dining, electrical appliances, false ceiling and lighting.
There are other areas like bathroom which do not eat up much of the cost. But the same depends when the customer may require certain specifications in the bathroom like a partition shower and other aspects.
In that case budget may rise up. These are few aspects to be kept in mind before planning budget. At 5.33 min of the video, Mr. Sam concludes that for more luxurious interiors the more budget needed to be planned. Mr. Arun also concludes that 10% as the minimum budget for interior designing which includes both designing and execution.
The maximum could be 15% which would cover the complete interiors, so planning budget is very important in decorating interiors, the more luxurious one needs, more amount can be spent.
